Position Overview: Skid Steer Operator (Class 1 license is a requirement of employment)

 

The role involves contributing to our scrap cleanup crew as a Skid Steer Operator and 1A Driver. Successful candidates will be expected to train for the position and will start by driving Class 1 vehicles for three to six months. After this training period, candidates can transition into the Skid Steer Operator role. Responsibilities include on-site material processing, removal, equipment transportation, and maintenance as well as job planning and communicating with customers. This role also offers growth potential towards more senior positions within the company (Excavator operator and crew lead).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Navigate to and from job sites.
  • Assist in loading and removing scrap material.
  • Engage with customers and assess pre-work site conditions.
  • Ensure crew equipment is properly fueled and maintained.
  • Drive an 18-speed manual transmission semi-truck
  • Work with the Ex-Op on maintaining the job list

  • Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 1 year of Class 1A driving experience.
  • 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience.
  • Willingness to travel and work on the road.
  • Excavator operation experience is a plus.
  • Off-road experience is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Supervisor
