POSITION SUMMARY
 
The HSE Administrator provides administrative and data support for the health, safety, and environment department. Responsibilities include keeping all HSE-related data current in internal and external databases; creating, editing, and modifying HSE-related documentation including manuals, correspondence, and forms; and assisting in the operation of HSE-led training programs, office duties, and regular HSE department reporting.
 
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manage, organize, and maintain electronic health and safety files
  • Maintain Health, Safety, and Environment Management System and documentation
  • Monitor and maintain client and subcontractor qualification databases and systems including ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta
  • Maintain Strike’s health and safety resource library
  • Create document and PowerPoint templates for codes of practice, standards, key points, and training, ensuring consistency in formatting and style
  • Assist in developing HSE-related manuals
  • Review new and revised documentation such as elements from the Health, Safety, Environment Management System, Safe Work manuals, codes of practice, safe work procedures, and safe job procedures manuals, and forms
  • Create and modify technical documents as required
  • Coordinate and schedule training courses and logistics
  • Manage and maintain key HSE data sources such as iTrak (training), Strike intranet platform
  • Provide administrative support to the HSE department, including faxing, photocopying, scanning, etc
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Provide regular HSE data and training reports to HSE management and Strike executive
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Relative diploma, certificate or bachelor’s degree (e.g. Health Safety Administrator, NCSO, business administration diploma or safety credential) is preferred
Experience
  • Two years’ experience in administration or health and safety
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Working understanding of client vender systems such as IS Networld and ComplyWorks
  • Proficient in HSE systems and Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of participating in and facilitating group meetings
  • Exemplary professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills
  • Capable of working independently with minimal direction
  • Possesses an eye for detail
  • Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
