POSITION SUMMARY 

The Administrator, HR plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent by developing and executing recruiting plans, networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees, coordinating/implementing recruiting initiatives, administrative duties and recordkeeping.  They are required to maintain an extensive, up to date database of candidates available as needs arise.  The Administrator, HR provides support to the HR department as requested, which can include, data entry, file maintenance, policy and procedure writing.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Act as the initial point-of-contact for all candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled
  • Screen and qualify top candidates to present to hiring managers
  • Provide analytics and reporting to stakeholders to highlight trends, opportunities and challenges related to recruitment efforts
  • Build key talent pipelines through continuous sourcing
  • Research and recommend new sources for both active and passive candidates
  • Drive improvements to our recruitment processes to ensure a streamlined, effective and high -quality experience for candidates and hiring managers
  • Attend job fairs and industry conferences; run company booth at job fairs
  • Assist with the revision of specifications and job descriptions for selected positions
  • Develop relationships with trade schools to recruit apprentices
  • Work with HSE and HR to ensure all pre-employment conditions are met (all safety tickets up to date, etc.)
  • Assist with developing materials, tools and documentation in support of HR programs such as on-boarding, policies and procedures
  • Assist the HR team with various HR initiatives
  • Create internal resumes for project and bid proposals
  • Support employee inquiries on benefits, payroll issues, vacation, leaves of absence and other HR related questions
  • Assist with entering new and employee change information into our HRIS system
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a HR Administrator
  • Previous experience recruiting construction professionals would be considered an asset

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Ability to travel for job fairs when required
  • High level attention to detail with the ability to follow through
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work within a team and to demonstrate a strong and positive work ethic
  • Strong MS Office skills and experience with an HRIS
  • Independent, responsible, self-motivated and able to take the initiative to liaise with other departments and/or external sources
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
