Position Summary:

The Account Manager (AM) will be responsible for developing and maintaining long term relationships with key contacts within a portfolio of strategic accounts. Representing all Tervita product and service lines, the AM will be responsible for the development and implementation of account specific sales strategies, with a focus on generating revenue growth while maintaining or increasing market share. The AM will identify and drive key opportunities, collaborating with internal working groups and stakeholders to ensure that quality and timely solutions are delivered to our customers. The AM will become the functional expert on each of their managed accounts and will be responsible for ensuring that the customers’ needs and expectations are met and exceeded for all aspects of the account. In addition to contributing to budgeting and forecasting, the AM will be accountable for achieving revenue targets and meeting account specific goals.  

This position is not safety sensitive.

Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Understand and accept Tervita’s Safety Absolutes. Live and promote safety culture in the workplace and at home.

 

Client Relations

  • Develop and manage relationships with key client contacts. Understand client needs and expectations to deliver solutions in a successful and timely manner.

Increase Market Share, secure commitments and contracts

  • Find, develop and grow new and existing business opportunities. Increase market share in existing areas and expand into new markets.
  • Develop and secure both volume and market share commitments, as well as long term contracts, while maintaining the contract database, negotiate and execute new contracts, proactively contact clients regarding upcoming expiries/renewals, facilitate RFP submissions.

 Work closely with other groups

  • Work closely with Tervita AR group to monitor the status of your managed accounts. Assist with any Account Receivable issues as required.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with Field Sales, Operations, additional Tervita BU’s and internal working groups (Commercial, Regulatory, Accounts Receivable, Business Development etc.), updating them on developments within your accounts (acquisitions, divestitures, operational changes, budget and finances, spills, general activity) and collaborating as required throughout the development of proposals and other initiatives.

 

Other

  • Manage account information and opportunity pipeline using the Microsoft Dynamics platform for all managed accounts (i.e. contacts, opportunities, quoting, contract rates, activity logs, CVRs).
  • Provide insight and recommendations for your managed accounts during budgeting and forecasting exercises.
  • Act as an ambassador and represent Tervita at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications:

Technical:

  • Bachelor Degree in business/technical area or the equivalent level of experience and training in operations and sales.
  • Minimum five years of technical or oilfield services sales experience combined with large account management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with consultative selling techniques.

Interpersonal:

  • Strong initiative and the ability to tackle new challenges.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including exceptional presentation and negotiating skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs such as, but not limited to, MS Office and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Proven sales track record.
